Vivian B. Flockhart, 92, of Waukon, IA, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family with arrangements.
Vivian Borgany Flockhart was born December 3, 1919, in Langdon, North Dakota, the daughter of Allet and Belle (Thompson) Olson. She graduated from Langdon High School. In 1937 she married Dan Chambers and they had four children. They moved to Waterloo, IA, in 1942, where she worked at Rath Packing Company and during WW II she worked at Hinson Manufacturing where she made parachutes. Vivian and Dan were later divorced. In 1964 she married Harold Flockhart and they moved to Mesa, AZ. Vivian moved to Waukon, where she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking, reading, traveling, playing dice and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Don (Sharon) Chambers of Red Bluff, CA, Jackie (Lyle) Westby of Waukon, Virginia (Richard) Kellems of Litchfield Park, AZ and Loren (Donna) Chambers of Aiken, MN; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; a sister, Mildred Heck and a brother in infancy.
