Tyler "Bubba" J. Blake, 26, of Waukon, IA, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his parents' home in rural Waukon from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6th, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dorchester, IA. Friends may call from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, where there will be a 2:45 pm scripture service.
Tyler James Blake was born on October 14, 1986, in Waukon, IA, the son of Edward P. and Mary (Manning) Blake. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon and graduated from Waukon High School in 2005. Bubba worked for Blake Excavating with his father and brothers as an equipment operator. He also helped on the family farm. Bubba enjoyed driving in demo derbies, tough truck contests, riding his motorcycle and four wheelers, mudding, and deer hunting. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and picking on and teasing his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his parents Edward and Mary Blake of Waukon; his siblings: Todd (Kandra) Blake of Waukon, Tammy (Brian) Stortz of Waukon, Travis (Audrey) Blake of Dorchester, and Tracy (Nicole) Blake of Waukon; paternal grandmother Margaret Blake of Dorchester; maternal grandmother Evelyn Manning of Lansing, IA; his nieces and nephews: William, Wyatt, Elizabeth, Brennen, Ayden and Courtney Blake, Amber, Tyler, Blake and Morgan Stortz; and special friend Brittany Nargang of Waukon. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Patrick Blake and maternal grandfather Harold Manning.
