Thomas P. Howe, 34, of Arvada, CO, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Thursday, March 29, 2018, at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7th, at 1:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, IA. Friends and family are welcome to attend the service or to greet the family at the funeral home following the service until 6:00 PM. Private family burial will be held later.
Thomas Patrick Howe was born on January 19, 1984, in Waukon, IA. He was the son of Wayne and Janice (Beisker) Howe. Tom was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, attended St. Patrick Elementary School, and graduated from Waukon High School in 2002, where he participated in football and wrestling. After attending the University of Iowa he worked for several construction companies in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area. While there he was the head wresting coach at Regina High School in Iowa City. Tom later moved to Colorado Springs and then Arvada, CO, where he has owned and operated "Ask Howe Construction." He did projects of his own as well as subcontracting.
Tom was always active and competitive. He was a self-taught guitar player, completed RAGBRAI when it ended in Dubuque, and was a fan of all sports, particularly Iowa wrestling. Spending time with his friends usually involved a game of darts, golf or volleyball. The mountain life suited him well as he enjoyed hiking, biking, camping, and skiing in the Colorado Rockies.
Survivors include his partner Callie Mescher and their 7 month-old daughter Ruby; his parents Wayne and Jan Howe of Waukon; his siblings: Angela (Ron) Cooper of Lansing, IA, Becky (Brad) Decker of Luana, IA, John Howe and Dan (Linsey) Howe, both of Waukon, and Zach (Katie Kotz) Howe of Dubuque, IA; a sister-in-law Shelly Howe of Waukon; his grandmother Arlene Beisker of Waukon; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother Matt and his grandparents Charles and Lorna Howe and John Beisker.
