Tanya Marie Schnuelle

Tanya M. Schnuelle, 39, of Waukon, IA, died suddenly Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 6th, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with Fr. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, where there will be a 3:30 PM scripture service.

Tanya Marie Schnuelle was born December 18, 1979, in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Lawrence and Marsha (Welper) Benda. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, graduated from Waukon High School in 1998, and received her LPN and RN from NICC in Calmar and her BSN from Upper Iowa University in Fayette. Tanya has worked at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon for many years. On September 11, 2010, she married Adam Schnuelle at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Tanya was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she taught CCD. She loved being involved with and following her children's activities, including working with Coulee Region Sled Hockey that her son Addison played for and assisting with the Waukon High School Band that Abigail played in. Tanya enjoyed riding motorcycles with Adam. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother, daughter, sister, aunt, nurse, coworker, and friend.

Survivors include her husband Adam Schnuelle of Waukon; her children: Addison and Abigail Schnuelle, both at home; her father and mother Lawrence and Marsha Benda of Waukon; four brothers: Tim Benda of Reedstown, WI, Tom (Jennifer) Benda of Postville, Ted (Holly) Benda of Decorah, and Travis (Ashley) Benda of Waukon; her nieces and nephews: Liam, Rose, Jason, Clara, Madilyn, Avery, and Vivyan Benda; her grandmother-in-law Sharon Goeke of Waukon; and many aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her grandparents.

Honorary casketbearers are the nursing staff at Veterans Memorial Hospital. Casketbearers are Bill, Robert, Donald, Roger, and Paul Benda, Mike and Nick Palmer, Chris Ahles, and Derek Muchow.
