Susan K. Thomas, 43, of Lansing, IA and formerly of New Albin, IA, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5th, at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Lansing, with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Wheatland Cemetery, rural New Albin. Friends may call from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Monday at United Methodist Church in Lansing. The Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family.
Susan Kay Thomas was born on Sept 25, 1968 in La Crosse, WI, to Ethel Thomas. Following graduation from Kee High School in Lansing she moved to Martin Luther Home in Waukon. While there she received support from TASC in obtaining a job carding buttons at the Blumenthal Button Factory in Lansing. She retired for health reasons in 2010.
Susan loved roller skating, playing cards, taking drives, her cats and spending time with people, especially her mother. She was active in the United Methodist Church as an Acolyte.
Survivors include her mother, Ethel Thomas of New Albin; an uncle, Walter (Phyllis) Breeser of New Albin and several cousins. She is preceded in death by three uncles, Robert, Fred and Edward Breeser.
