Steven Mitchell

Steven L. Mitchell, 56, of rural Blair, WI, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, May 30, 2021, at his home. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at Jack Funeral Home in Blair, WI. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 8 ^th , at 11:00 AM at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, IA, with Pastor Kim Gates officiating. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling the graveside service.

Steven Lyal Mitchell was born on January 31, 1965, in Waukon, IA, to Ray and Lorraine (Schellhammer) Mitchell. He was baptized and confirmed at the Rossville Presbyterian Church in rural Waukon and graduated from Waukon High School and NICC in Calmar, IA.

Steve worked as a mechanic for Rodger Honne's garage in Waterville, IA, Leadfree in Waukon, Jim's DX in Waukon, Trosinski Trucking in Galesville, WI, and La Crosse Truck Center, where he was still employed. Steve was an avid football and basketball fan.

Steve is survived by his two children: Maygan Kujak and Travis Mitchell; his three grandchildren: Nora, Avery, and Owen Kujak; his parents: Ray and Lorraine Mitchell; a brother Jeff Mitchell; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend Rebecca Boe and her daughter McKenna.

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Martha Schellhammer, Lyal and Merle Mitchell, Ora and Bessie Mitchell, and Frieda Vieth.
