Sharifah Kay Hagen

Sharifah K. Hagen, 58, of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, January 5, 2025, at her home in Waukon. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 28th at 11:00 AM at Decorah Congregational United Church of Christ with Duane Fenstermann Officiating. Family and friends may greet the family at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until time of services. Inurnment was at Mabel Lutheran Cemetery in Mabel, MN, and the family marker is at Riceford Cemetery, just north of Mabel. Martin – Grau Funeral Home in Waukon will be handling the arrangements.

Sharifah Kay Hagen was born February 11, 1966, in Richmond, CA, the daughter of George D. and Joann K. (Kaiser) Hagen. She was baptized in Richmond, CA, and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hill, CA. Sharifah completed special education schooling in Pleasant Hill, CA, and Berkely, CA. On April 22, 1993, she moved with her parents to Decorah, IA. Sharifah has lived in several towns in Northeast IA, the last 24 years she has lived in Waukon. She was a resident at Mosaic in Waukon. Sharifah did daily activities with Spectrum and TASC.

She enjoyed ice skating, roller skating when she was younger, and ballet, especially The Nutcracker. Sharifah also enjoyed swimming and horseback riding throughout her life. When she was four years old, she jumped off the diving board in Saudi Arabia, where she lived for four years.

Immediate family survivors include her parents George and Joann Hagen of Decorah; a brother Kurtis (Loni) Hagen of Tampa Bay. FL; and two nephews: Kai and Erik Hagen.
