Scot R. Halverson, 50, of Postville, IA, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, IA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21st, at 1:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Pastor Deb Lind-Schmitz officiating. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Scot Roy Halverson was born November 26, 1958 in Waukon, IA, the son of Lynn Charles and Virginia Maxine (Winter) Halverson Sr. He was baptized at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in rural Postville and attended Postville and Waukon schools. Scot farmed all of his life in Post Township rural Postville, on the family farm. He was the 5th generation, raising dairy cows, beef cows, hogs and crops. He was a member of the Northeast Iowa bird and animal club. Scot enjoyed spending time with his family and going out to eat. Scot was a caregiver to his parents for several years.

Survivors include his mother, Virginia Halverson of Waukon; 5 brothers, James (Julie) Halverson of Monona, Jerry Halverson of Waukon, Lynn (Sally) Halverson Jr. of Orlando, FL Alfred (Sandy) Halverson of Waukon, and Tony (Sandy) Halverson of Lime Springs, IA; 7 sisters, Gloria Dertinger of Marion, IA, Susan Hangartner Loveland, CO, Sherry (Dean) Bechtel Monona, Bonnie (Kenneth) Iseli of Waukon, Gail (James) Connor of Onalaska, WI, Kim (Kevin) Honn of Center Point, IA and June Brandsmeier of Holmen, WI; 38 nieces and nephews and 58 great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Lynn Charles; a brother, Jay and a niece, Chanda Halverson.
