Sanda L. Torson, 66, of Lansing, IA, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 16th at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Rev. Richard A. Iles officiating. Friends may call one hour before services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Sanda Lee Torson was born January 21, 1942 in Elkader, IA, the daughter of Roy and Zala Fern (Hageman) Berg. She attended elementary school in the Hawkeye, IA, area and graduated from Hawkeye High School in 1961. On December 7, 1963 she married Ronald Torson in Hawkeye. They lived in several towns throughout Northeast Iowa, before moving to rural Colesburg, IA, where they lived for ten years. In 1983 they moved to the rural Lansing area where they farmed. Sanda enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and watching TV. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald of Lansing; her children, Robert (Wendy) Torson of Lansing, Sherri (Arnie) Onsager of Waterville, IA and Teresa (David) Milton of Alma, WI; 9 grandchildren, Cole and Madison Torson, Jasmine and Nick Onsager, Samantha, Jerrica, Jacob, Jordon and Thomas Milton; and her mother, Fern Furgeson of Colesburg, IA. She is preceded in death by her step-father, Dale Furgeson.
