Ruth Vine

Ruth H. Vine, 87, of Lansing, IA, died Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Thornton Manor in Lansing. A private family service will be held. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family.

Ruth Helen Vine was born on May 13, 1939, the daughter of Arthur and Lydia (Kiesau) Bechtel. She attended Ludlow Country School and graduated from Waukon High School. After graduation, she moved to Decorah and worked at Fareway. On February 19, 1961, Ruth married Donny Vine. From this union they had two children, Connie and Randy. Ruth and Donny farmed and she also worked at Northern Engraving. She loved to cook and especially enjoyed spending time with family.

Ruth is survived by her two children: Connie (Charlie) Regan and Randy (Shelly) Vine; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donny; her parents; two brothers: Calvin and Donald; and a sister-in-law Betty.
