Rosalie Marie Ehde

Rosalie M. Ehde, 72, of Waukon, IA, died Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, November 21st at 11:00 am at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon with Rev. Richard N. Eick officiating. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
Rosalie Marie Ehde was born May 26, 1935 in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Edward and Florence (Dresselhaus) Martin. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Eitzen, MN. Rosalie attended elementary school in the Eitzen area and graduated from Waukon High school in 1953. After graduating from high school she worked for three years in the coffee shop at the Hotel Winneshiek in Decorah. On September 16, 1956 she married Galerd Ehde at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon. After they were married they moved to Union Prairie Township in rural Waukon where they have farmed ever since.
She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Zion UCC Women's Fellowship and also volunteered at many church activities. Rosalie took great pride in taking care of her home. She enjoyed traveling out west with Galerd, cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Rosalie will missed by her family and many friends.
Survivors include her husband, Galerd; her children, Randy Ehde and Janice (Dani) Bahr all of Waukon, IA; 3 grandchildren, Bryce, Cody and Brianna Bahr; 3 brothers, Lloyd (Carol) Martin of Waukon, Kermit Martin of Waterville and Walter (Peggy) Martin of Lansing; 2 sisters Joyce (Robert) Headington of West Union and Sharon (Randy) Dishinger of Waterloo, IA and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Honorary casketbearers were Bryce, Cody and Brianna Bahr, Henry and Carol Miene, Betty Bechtel, Ruth Nolting and Betty Decker. Casketbearers were Duane "Dewey" and Dave E. Martin, Scott Miene, Joey Stammeyer, Randy Dishinger and Carl Brueggeman.
