Ronald G. Schultz, 79, of Lansing, IA, died Monday, April 24, 2023, at Gundersen Lutheran Health System in La Crosse, WI. Burial with military honors will be at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may greet the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 9th, at Thornburg - Grau Funeral Home in Lansing.


Ronald G. Schultz was born September 11, 1943, in Waukon, IA, the son of Richard and Ruth (Iseli) Schultz. He was baptized and conformed at E.U.B. Church in Lansing, IA. Ron attended country school in the Churchtown area and graduated from Lansing High School in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army for eleven years including during the Vietnam War from 1963 - 1964, where he escorted deceased military members returning home.


After the service, he was a police officer for the Guttenberg Police Department for a couple of years before working for Blumenthal Lansing Company in maintenance until they closed in 2016. Ron enjoyed woodworking, fixing pellet guns and target shooting, playing on his computer, and working in his flower gardens.


Survivors include a son Kevin (Lisa) Black of Bowling Green, KY; his grandchildren: Megan, Amanda and Savanah; his sister Pam Seidel of Lansing, IA; and a nephew James (Cathy) Seidel of Rodgers, MN, and their children: Ashley and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
