Paul Thompson

Paul E. Thompson, 60, of Postville, IA, died Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Good Samaritan Society in Postville. No services are scheduled at this time. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon, IA, is assisting the family.

Paul Eric Thompson was born December 22, 1960 to Curtis and Wilma (Zimmerman) Thompson at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, IA. He was raised in Waterville, IA, and graduated from Waukon High School in 1979. He attended a vocational college in Mason City, IA, and then worked in Wyoming before joining the U.S. Army. Paul loved sports, NASCAR, playing cards, and the outdoors, especially trout fishing. He was very proud of his service to his country.

He is survived by his three children: Matthew (wife Jessica and son Elliot) Thompson and Daniel (wife Tamara) Thompson, both of Osage Beach, MO, and Austin Thompson of Lenexa, KS; his mother Wilma; and two brothers: Craig and John Thompson. Paul was preceded in death by his father Curt and both grandparents: Agnes (Olson) and Clarence Thompson and Marie and Frederick Zimmerman.
