Pamela K. Woods, 59, of Brownsville, MN, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, November 14, 2010, at her home in Brownsville, MN. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Salem Cemetery in rural Waukon. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the La Crescent Animal Adoption Center.
Pamela Kay Woods was born February 16, 1951 in Waukon, IA the daughter of Raymond Myron and Geneva Christina (Flage) Snitker. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1969 and attended Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids, IA, where she received her LPN license. Pam went to work at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI for two years. On September 22, 1973 she married Ricky Wayne Woods at Salem United Church of Christ in rural Waukon. They moved to their home on the Mississippi River in Brownsville, MN, where they raised their family and spent the next thirty seven years together. Pam worked at WKBT in LaCrosse for a short time and was the janitor at Zion Evangelical Church in Brownsville for 10 years.
She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Church where she was an assistant Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible school teacher. Pam was also a member of Salem United Church of Christ and the VFW 6801 Auxiliary in Brownsville. Her main priorities were taking care of her family and her home, as well as pampering any stray animal that entered her life. Pam was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. The family would like to thank Franciscan Skemp Hospice for their wonderful care and support. We miss you Mom, but we know you're up in Heaven keeping things clean.
Survivors include husband, Ricky of Brownsville, MN; her children, Matthew (Megan) Woods of Jordan, MN, Michael Woods of LaCrescent, MN, Jessica (Christain Driver) Woods of Denver, CO and Joseph Woods of Caledonia, MN; 2 grandsons, Jacob and Sam Woods; a brother, Curt (Marcia) Snitker of Cedar Rapids, IA and a special friend, Gloria Michschl, who's friendship was treasured dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents.
