Norma Troendle

     Norma J. Troendle, 79, of Lansing, IA, died Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 22nd, at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Fr. Philip Agyei officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. Friends may greet the family from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Sunday, June 21st, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home in Lansing.

     Norma Jean Troendle was born on September 27, 1946, in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Reuben and Frances (Neiderkorn) Schorg. Norma lived in Allamakee County throughout her life. Norma eventually met the love of her life, Gerald Troendle, and the two were married on September 21, 1963, at St. Mary's Lycurgus Catholic Church in rural Waukon, IA. Norma was a hardworking woman, and during her life she helped farm alongside her husband. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards, and enjoyed being a 4-H leader. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.

     Norma is survived by her five children: Jean Troendle of Lansing, Denise (Dave) Schmelzer of Postville, Vicki Troendle of Waukon, Brian (Allyson) Troendle of Lansing, and Jennifer Davis of Lansing; 11 grandchildren: Morgan (Dan), Monica, Nora, Laira, Haley, Emily, Waverly, Walker, Weslynn, Teresa (Ryan), and Tracy; three great-grandchildren; Jace, Ryan Jr., Ryder, and one on the way; three siblings: Reuben Schorg, David (Clara) Schorg, Ruth Foster; sister and brother in laws Bob (Kay) Troendle, Bonnie(Bud) Mohn, and Betty Troendle; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

     She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald; her parents Reuben and Frances Schorg; in-laws Ted and Minnie Troendle; two children: Marsha Kay and Larry Allen; a grandchild Jesse Ideker; a sister-in-law Nancy Schorg; brother-in-law Tom Troendle; and nephew Dusty Lawson.

     Casketbearers are Monica, Nora, Laira, and Morgan Davis, Haley and Emily Ideker, John Schwartzhoff, and Dan Schorg. Honorary casketbearers are Jace Davis and Waverly, Walker, and Weslynn Troendle.
