Norbert "Butch" Joseph Needham, 68, of Waukon, IA, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27th, at 11:00 AM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Deacon Mike Ward officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will be held in St. Mary's Lycurgus Cemetery, rural Waukon. Friends may call 1 hour before services on Monday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
Norbert "Butch" Joseph Needham was born on February 21, 1941 in Monona, IA, the son of Leo and Ethel (Burckart) Needham. He graduated from Monona High School in 1959. After high school Butch served in the U. S. Army from November of 1959 until November of 1962 as a Light Weapons Infantryman. Butch will long be remembered as an arborist, a horseman and a fun-loving uncle. He enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Survivors include a sister, Delores Fee of Luana, IA; a brother, Leonard (Jeanne) Needham of Harpers Ferry, IA; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Welzen; a brother, Patrick "Bud" Needham; and 2 nephews, Craig Fee and Lyle Needham.
Casketbearers are Todd Needham, Neil and Edmond Burckart, Brian, Christopher and Dustin Fee.
