Neilah Nobles

November 16, 2020 — March 23, 2025

Neilah Alexis Mae Nobles, 4, daughter of Barry and Breanna Nobles of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, March 23, 2025, at University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center in Iowa City, IA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29th, at 11:00 AM at Iron Ridge Church in Waukon with Pastor Bryan Mincks officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Waukon Event Center, 612 Rossville Road. Friends may greet the family from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday at Martin - Grau Funeral Home in Waukon.

Neilah Alexis Mae Nobles was born to Barry and Breanna Nobles on November 16, 2020. Neilah had the most beautiful big blue eyes and an infectious smile. She was very social, cheerful, warm spirited, mischievous, energetic, sassy, innocent, joyful, witty, expressive, and curious.

Her favorite activities were swimming, fishing, puddle stomping, boating, walking her dog Zuma, playing with her best friends, going to the park, playing dress up, reading books, painting nails, playing with Play-Doh, and snuggling.

Her favorite movie was Moana. Her favorite food was fettuccine alfredo. Her favorite place to go was TiTi and Uncle Shawn's and Marie's house. She loved Minnie Mouse, baby dolls, unicorns and barbies.

Although Neilah's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to uplift us and live on in those who love her. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and sass in all we do. Neilah's light will forever shine brightly in our memories. Her passing left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for how short her life was, but for the way it was lived and the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. She was our best four years.

We know the road she walked was anything but easy. She had two open heart surgeries and many medical procedures; she picked up her share of scars along the way. She fought her fight and her race is run. No more boo boos, headaches, needles, or breathlessness. If only we had known the last time would be the last time, we would have put off all the things we had to do. We would have stayed a little longer and held on a little tighter. What we would give for one more day with her.

Neilah is survived by her parents Barry and Breanna Nobles; her sister Desiree Raney; three brothers: Donavin Nobles, Jaxon Nobles, and Trey Nobles; grandparents Troy and Kristie Hagensick, Calvin and Lila Nobles, and Gordon Rask; great-grandparents Thelma Russi, Kathy Byrnes, Charlie Fogt, and Debbie and Cary Mandelka; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by great-grandfather Jim; grandfather Kevin; and cousin Landon.

Neilah's family would like to thank the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital staff: Trudy, Dr. Robb, Heather, Taryn, Trish, Kayleigh, and Alyssa for the compassionate care for Neilah and the unwavering dedication in making sure Neilah's parents had the necessary comfort and emotional support from family and friends during some of the worse days of their life. The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to family and friends for the endless unconditional support. They are forever grateful to all the prayer warriors for the continuous prayers over the last four years.

Honorary casketbearers are Breanna, Jaxon, and Trey Nobles, Zane Foster, Buffy Friedrich, Brynlee Hamilton, Liam Plumb, and Alize Seegmiller. Casketbearers are Barry and Donavin Nobles, Jesse Hitchcock, James Lightfoot, Shawn Friedrich, Scott Onsager, and Tony Schobert.
