Milo A. Kloke, 81, of Waukon, IA, died Monday, June 7, 2010, at his home in rural Waukon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 10th, at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in rural Postville, IA, with Pastor Paul Snyder officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Milo Albert Kloke was born on June 2, 1929 in Waukon, IA, the son of Albert John and Esther Anna (Duvel) Kloke. He was baptized on August 11, 1929 and confirmed on April 11, 1943 at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in rural Postville, IA. He attended Ludlow #7 country school in Ludlow Township rural Waukon. On September 21, 1952 he married Ruby Oretta Roldson at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waterville, IA. They farmed together in Ludlow Township where they raised crops, hogs and dairy cows. Milo also did custom spraying for area farmers and enjoyed doing the mechanical work on his tractors and farm equipment.


Milo was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church where he served as a church elder and a deacon. Milo served as a Ludlow Township trustee and clerk for 17 years and served on the Ludlow Township election board. He also was on the Waukon rural fire board for several years and the Postville rural fire board for 17 years. Milo enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his friends and spending time with his family. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and Green Bay Packer fan. Milo was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy on January 20, 2010.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Ruby Kloke of Waukon; his children, Glenda Kloke of Boyce, VA, Dennis (Joy) Kloke and Wayne (Kim) Kloke both of Waukon; 3 grandchildren, Alexa Althoff, Jess and Jenn Kloke; and a brother, Leo (Dorothy) Klocke of Waukon. He is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Shae Marie Kloke; 1 brother, Robert Kloke; and 2 sisters, Bernita Hanson and Mary Miller.
