Mary Veronica Waters

Mary V. Waters, 56, of La Crosse, WI, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9th, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with Fr. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Hanover Cemetery, rural Waukon. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church on Saturday. Martin – Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling the arrangements.

Mary Veronica Waters was born June 22, 1965, in Mitchell, SD, the daughter of Floyd and Florence Glade (Spainhower) Waters. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1984, and attended Loras College in Dubuque, IA, for a degree in secretarial and word processing in 1986. For many years, she worked at Northern Engraving in Waukon. Mary was a loving mother to her son Cori and cherished their times together.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as they had a special place in their heart for her. Mary always remembered the special people in her life; you may have found a small gift or trinket she may have left at your door or she would stop at your house to give it to you. Mary enjoyed going to races, watching movies, and going out to eat. Most recently, she and her fiancé Curt enjoyed traveling to Florida. Mary's faith was very important to her as well.

Survivors include her son Cori Lessard of McGregor, IA; her fiancée Curt Landgraff of Onalaska, WI; a stepbrother Louis "Bill" Wood of Anchorage, AK; two aunts: Leonette Troendle and Shirley Waters; two uncles: Donald and Ralph Waters; and many cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; stepsister Barb Wood; stepbrother Ted Wood; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Casketbearers are Jim, Kevin, and Shawn Dixon, Brian and Loran Waters, and Mark Kirkeby.
