Mary E. Garrow, 88, of Waukon, IA, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 3rd, at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call one hour before services on Friday at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements.
Mary Elizabeth Garrow was born February 19, 1922 in Waukon, IA, the only child of Walter and Mae (Howe) Garrow. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church and graduated from St. Patrick Catholic School, where she was active in music and served on the debate team. Mary moved to Chicago where she worked as a stenographer for an electrical company for twenty three years. She moved back to Waukon to be a caregiver to her mother. Mary was a resident at Makee Manor and most recently Northgate Care Center. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed reading and playing the piano.
There are no immediate survivors. She is preceded in death by her parents.
