Mark L. Odegard, 62, of Waukon, IA, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 31, 2012. Private family memorial services will be held at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon. Inurnment will be held in St. John's Wheatland Cemetery in rural New Albin, IA.
Mark Lorin Odegard was born September 30, 1949 in Oakland CA, the son of Reverends Lawrence and Laura (Whittenberg) Odegard. He received a Masters Degree in Christian Education from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in 1980. Mark was director of medical records for several hospitals in California and New York City. He was a knowledgeable theologian and historian who had a unique take on the world. Mark's mother and family will miss his passionate conversations and his kind and generous spirit.
Survivors include his mother, Reverend Laura Odegard of Waukon, IA; his siblings, Kristina (Mark) Walleser of Lansing, IA, Rebecca (Douglas) Odegard-Siegele of Greeley, CO, Peter
(Michelle) Odegard and Andrew (Catherine) Odegard both of Dubuque, IA, and Naomi (Gary) Yaddof of McGregor, IA; and 17 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence.
Honorary casketbearers are Mark's Nieces and Nephews.
