Mark A. Kaeser, 40, of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, August 1, 2010, following injuries received in a motorcycle accident near Waukon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 5th, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon, IA, with Pastor Deb Lind-Schmitz officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
Mark Allen Kaeser was born on February 13, 1970, in Waukon, IA, the son of Gordon Jr. and Darlene (Moen) Kaeser. He was baptized and confirmed at First Presbyterian Church and graduated from Waukon High School in 1989. Mark was mechanically minded from an early age and always trying to figure out how things worked. He spent a summer during school working road construction for Dick Loven. Since graduating he has worked with his father and brother as an auto body repairman at Gordy's Auto Body in Waukon. Mark took great pride in his work and everything that he did had to be just right. He also managed a car wash in Waukon for Leon Einck for several years.
Mark enjoyed spending time in his garden and tending to projects at his house. Woodworking, deer hunting, fishing, cutting wood, plowing snow, and helping at the farm were some of his other favorite pastimes. He enjoyed two special trips to Alaska with his grandmother LaVon. Mark liked to work on or run anything that had wheels or an engine and had a particular passion for riding and working on his motorcycles. He also loved spending time with his family, especially playing with the young children. Mark had a heart of gold and will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone he could.
Survivors include his parents, Gordon Jr. and Darlene Kaeser of Waukon; a brother, Michael (Kristie) Kaeser of Waukon; a sister, Melissa (Chad) Connell of Frankville, IA; his paternal grandmother, LaVon Kaeser of Waukon; 3 nieces, Mackenzie and Marina Kaeser and Madelyn Connell; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a special friend, Lisa Christianson and her children, Kiersten Christianson and Cody Runice. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gordon Kaeser Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Carl and Marian Moen; and an aunt, Judy Kaeser.
Honorary casketbearers are Joe Egan, Greg Snitker, Marv Roe, Daryl Cooper, Leonard Bulman, and Gary Klein. Casketbearers are Randy Dreier, Tim Phipps, Ryan Schulte, Chris Bulman, Don Bresnahan, Kyle Schulte, Jim Livingston, Joe Keenan, and Lee Gavle.
