Marion F. Hartley, 94, of Waukon, IA, and formerly of New Albin, IA died Monday, July 11, 2011, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14th, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Albin, with Fr. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, New Albin. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Community Center in New Albin with a Parish Scripture Service at 8 PM.

Marion Frances Hartley was born on September 25, 1916 in New Albin, IA, the daughter of Patrick and Mary (Fish) Ryan. She graduated from the New Albin High School and was a life long member of St. Joseph's Parish in New Albin. On January 29, 1937 she married Charles E. Hartley in Dubuque, IA. She and Charles farmed in the New Albin area. Marion loved entertaining her family and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed her large vegetable and flower garden as well as picking wild berries for her baked goods.

Survivors include 2 children, Joseph (Joan) Hartley of Seneca, WI, and Mary Ellen (Lyle) Mohwinkle of Waukon; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hartley of New Albin; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles; 3 sons, James, Thomas and Charley Hartley; a granddaughter, Connie Hartley; a daughter-in-law, Bernadette Hartley; and all 9 of her siblings, Grace, Gladys, Esther, Marguerite, Loretta, Earl, Len, Harold and Lawrence.

Casketbearers are Dean Hartley, Ronald Hartley, Steve Mohwinkle, Mike Hartley, Mark Hartley and Chad Waters.
