Marilyn Adele Bulman was born June 9, 1933, at her grandparents' home in Rossville, IA, the daughter of Lawrence and Kathryn (Wiedenmann) Ricker. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon, IA, where she remained a lifelong member. In 1951, Marilyn graduated from Waukon High School and went to work at the Allamakee County Treasurer's office. On November 28, 1954, Marilyn married Curtis E. Clark at Zion UCC. While fulfilling her duties as a farmwife and homemaker, Marilyn also worked as a seamstress at Jacobi's Clothing in Waukon. In 1978, she was elected Allamakee County Recorder, where she continued that role until retiring in 1998. Curt passed away in 1993, and after Marilyn retired, she spent most of her time with her kids and grandkids and taking care of her mom. On July 10, 1999, Marilyn married Robert E. Bulman at his Spring Hollow Farm in rural New Albin, IA.

She and Bob loved going to their grandchildren's school events and traveling. Trips included: Hawaii, California, and Puerto Rico; on her first trip overseas, Marilyn went to Italy and broke her ankle shortly after checking into the hotel. Her trademark spunky cheeriness kept her going though. While she was a very put-together person, Marilyn also had a bit of a daredevil streak in her. She enjoyed sledding, riding their motorcycle, and snowmobiling with her kids, hauling "The Blue Deuce" stockcar to area races, and maybe collected a few speeding tickets here and there.

At Zion UCC, Marilyn participated in women's fellowship as well as the "Sew Inspired" sewing group. Marilyn was a member of the VFW women's auxiliary, PEO, and spent many hours volunteering at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon and at Thornton Manor in Lansing. To relax, she liked quilting and just being outside, either going out for a walk or sitting in her Adirondack chair.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Doug (Susan) Clark of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Joel (Sue) Clark of Huntsville, AL, Sue Clark of Waukon, Thea (Don) Thies of Waukon, and Shelly (Steve) Gearhart of Cedar Falls, IA, eight grandchildren: Kelli (Dan) Buchenau, Kristal (Travis) Donahue, Ryan Thies, Kelsey Clark, Regan (Mike) Pudlo, Allie (Austin) Long, Seb (Olivia) Gearhart, and Brett Clark; six great-grandchildren: Kassidy, Kade, Revi, McCabe, Rylee, and Mason; a brother Clayton (Audrey) Ricker of Payson, AZ; a sister Barbara (Arne) Grangaard of Chanhassen, MN; stepchildren: Doug (LeeAnn) Bulman of Oelwein, IA, Dan (Barb) Bulman of Dresbach, MN, Jeanne Dobbs of Wasioja, MN, John (Jodi) Bulman of Zumbro Falls, MN, and Lynne (John) Burke of Burnsville, MN; stepson-in-law Lee Stoltman of Winona, MN; 21 step-grandchildren; 31 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Lois Shindoll and Dianne Prieditis; and a special neighbor and good friend Ruby Schoh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Curt Clark in 1993 and Bob Bulman in 2021; stepdaughter Jody Stoltman; and stepson-in-law David Dobbs.

Honorary casketbearers are Marilyn's great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren will serve as casketbearers.
