Marian E. Wittenberger, 96, of Phoenix, AZ, died Monday, December 17, 2007 in Phoenix, AZ. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 26th at 1:30 pm at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, with Rev. Richard Eick officiating. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Marian E. Wittenberger was born on November 17, 1911 in Savanna, IL, the daughter of John C. and Ida (Teeple) Wittenberger. Marian graduated from Knox College Monmouth, IL and her career was devoted as a librarian with the Veterans Administration in Phoenix. She was interested in genealogy and leaves a vast amount of information.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Frances Wittenberger of Erlanger, KY; 2 nephews, Frank Wittenberger of Davenport, IA and James (Susan) Wittenberger of Reedsburg, WI; 3 nieces, Janice Struckman of Erlanger, KY, Judy Menor of Highland, CA and Jean (Ralph) Hoeck of Clermont, IA and numerous great-grand nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marjorie; a brother, Frank and a nephew, John Wittenberger.
