Margaret "Peggy" Hennessy

Margaret "Peggy" M. Hennessy, 65, of Waukon, IA, died Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at her home. Graveside services were held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waukon with Fr. Mark Osterhaus officiating. A memorial service will be at a later date. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements. Condolences can be sent to Jim Hennessy at 635 9th Street SW, Waukon, IA 52172.

Margaret Mary Hennessy was born May 16, 1954, in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Cletus and Phyllis (Ryan) Schulte. She grew up in Dorchester, IA, and was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church; in 1972, Peggy graduated from Waukon High School. On February 23, 1974, she married James Hennessy at St. Mary's in Dorchester. They made their home in Waukon and in addition to raising their children, Peggy worked various part time jobs. A devout Catholic, Peggy belonged to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon and the Daily Rosary Society and prayed for family and anyone in need. She enjoyed sewing and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her husband Jim of Waukon; her children: Jim (Katie), Mike (Michelle), Andy (Leah), and Ryan (Jenny) Hennessy, all of Waukon, and Frannie (Scott) Geisler of Dyersville, IA; grandchildren: Morgan, Patrick, Daniel, Kelsey, Ashley, Carson, Joseph, Sarah, Matthew, Anna, Ellie, a baby due in June, Alli, Luke, and Charlie Hennessy, and Ray and Emmett Geisler; her siblings: Ann (Mike) Monnens of Brooking, SD, Jane Schulte of Olathe, KS, and Ray Schulte of Taiwan; and sister-in-law Deb Schulte of Spring Grove, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Joseph Cletus; and two brothers: Tony Schulte and Mike C. Schulte.
