Lorraine Adele Anderson, 80, of Waukon, IA, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, IA. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9th, at 11:00 AM at West Paint Creek Synod Lutheran Church in rural Waukon, IA, with Pastor Josh Skogen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Friday at the church.
Lorraine Adele Anderson was born on October 24, 1930 in Waterville, IA, the daughter of Leonard M. and Emily I. (Bakkum) Anderson. She attended local schools and graduated from Waterville High School in 1948. She was a secretary at the Farm Bureau office in Decorah from 1948 until 1963. Lorraine lived in Decorah from 1948 until 1963 when she moved back to Waterville to help her parents on the farm. She was active in the West Paint Creek Synod Lutheran Church as church organist and taught Sunday School. She was an accomplished musician being able to plan the piano, organ and accordion.
Survivors include her brother, Everett (Roberta) Anderson of Waukon and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wilbur Anderson.
