Lorna M. Rychecky, 67, of Waukon, IA, died Monday, January 26, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, IA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31st, at 11:00 AM at Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waukon, with Pastor Ken Kimball officiating. Burial will be held in Old West Paint Creek Cemetery, rural Waukon. Friends may call from 3:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
Lorna Mae Rychecky was born on April 17, 1941 in Postville IA, the daughter of James and Freda (Leiran) Grant. Over the years she worked at Northern Engraving in Waukon, John Deere in Waterloo, and retired from the Alliant Nuclear Power Plant in Palo, IA. Lorna enjoyed yard work, watching movies on the Hallmark and Lifetime Channels and spending time with her family. She married Carl Williams and is survived by their daughter, Debbie (Charles) Colsch of Monona, IA, 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Gerald (Dolores) Leiran of Long Beach, CA, Vernon (Elsie) Haas of Anaheim, CA, Ronald Haas of La Crosse, WI, David (Dolores) Grant of Marshalltown, IA; and a sister, Marilyn (Orlean) Ellefson of Waukon. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl; 2 sisters, Patricia Valentine and Florence Turner.
