Lori Ann Meyer, 47, of Waukon, IA, died Monday, February 6, 2012, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 10th, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Waukon. Burial will be at the City of West Union Cemetery, West Union, IA. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
Lori Meyer was born on May 21, 1964 in Waukon to Gene Myers and Carolyn Thomson. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1982 and later graduated from Universal Cosmetology School in Decorah. On September 15, 1984 she married Todd Meyer at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon. In 1989 Lori and Todd built a Beauty Salon onto their home so she could work as a Beautician while at home with her family. She attended and helped organize the CEW retreats and was an active participant in a prayer chain. Lori was always willing to help anyone in any way she could. Faith, Family and Friends and her dogs Chloe and Baya summed up her life.
Survivors include her husband, Todd Meyer of Waukon; two daughters, Chelsey and Courtney Meyer, both of Waukon; her mother, Carolyn (Gene Maurer) of Lansing; her father, Gene Myers of Lansing; her maternal grandfather, Bill Thomson of Waukon; her paternal step-grandmother Christine Myers of Sun City, AZ; her mother-in-law Mary Lou Meyer of West Union and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Ann Thomson; paternal grandfather, Leo Myers; paternal grandmother, Carma Myers; father-in-law Ferris Meyer and a niece Elizabeth Meyer.
Honorary casketbearers are all her family and friends that have touched her life. Casketbearers are Jim, Dick and Mike Meyer, Tom Thomson, Cletus Rooney, Doug Detert and Pete Bilden.
The family would prefer memorials in lieu of flowers.
