Leone Rose Stafford Hegeman, 87, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, October 26, 2008, at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 29th, at 11:00 AM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Rev. Lynn Groe officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 9:00 am until time of services on Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon. Leone Rose Stafford Hegeman was born April 19, 1921 in Monona, IA, the daughter of Hamp and Velva (Rose) Stafford. She graduated from Waukon High School. In 1940 she married Robert William Hegeman. Leone was a member of the 19th Century Club in Waukon. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Louis (Kathy) Hegeman of La Grange, IL and Miriam (Richard) Esmail of Glen Ellyn, IL; 4 grandchildren, Bridget (Michael) Wheeler, Patrick (Brande) Hegeman, Margaret Hegeman and Brendan Hegeman; 2 great-grandchildren, Savannah Rose and Delaney Grace Hegeman; and a sister, Dorothy Dorkins of Springfield, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert who died in 1991; and 2 sisters, Vernie Ruth Stafford and Geraldine Laureyne Stafford.
