Lee Daniel White was born to John, Sr. and Clara Olevia (Bulman) White on January 4, 1927. Lee attended the Forest Mills school in Allamakee County, IA, and graduated from Postville High School in 1945. He then went to Midwest Bible and Missionary Institute in St. Louis, MO, where he met Ruth Marie Brown. They were married following her graduation from Midwest Bible and Missionary Institute on July 17, 1953. They remained at Midwest for Lee's final year of schooling.

Lee was a dairy farmer in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, developing a high-producing herd of Holsteins and winning multiple top-quality milk awards in both Wisconsin and Iowa. While busy on the farm, Lee found time to actively participate in the ministry of First Baptist Church of Waukon, serving as a deacon, trustee, Sunday school superintendent, adult Sunday school teacher, and as part of the music ministry. He and Ruth started the AWANA youth club at First Baptist Church and served as commanders.

After retiring from farming in 1989, Lee and Ruth moved to the farm next door and established Springdale Mill and Gardens. Their desire to enhance the natural beauty of the spring-fed valley led to the creation of multiple gardens throughout the property which were visited and enjoyed by hundreds of people.

Lee is survived by his wife Ruth. Lee and Ruth were blessed with six children, all of whom survive him: David (Debbie) White of Ostrander, OH, Joy (Gary) Hanson of Maple Grove, MN, Daniel (Valeria) White of rural Postville, IA, Joel (Cindy) White of Pauls Valley, OK, Grace (Ken) Witkoe of Lakewood, WA, and Stephen (Sharon) White of Sparta, MI. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law: Martha White of Longmont, CO, and Sharon White of rural Postville. Lee was predeceased by his parents; his brothers: Milton, Linton, Howard, and John, Jr.; his sister Viola Doudney; and a grandchild Kathy White.

Honorary casketbearers are Karen Johnson, William, Justin, and Cole White, Christian Josiah "CJ" Witkoe, Larry Gelo, and Paul Promnitz. Casketbearers are Nathan, Micah, Isaac, Lauran, and Emily White, Marc and Alyx Hanson, and David Weum.
