Kohbey J. Lawson, 20, of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, December 29, 2013, at his home in Waukon. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 7th, at 1:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery, in rural Dorchester, IA. Friends may call one hour before the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Kohbey Joseph Lawson was born June 15, 1993, in La Crosse, WI, the son of Nicole Sires. He graduated from Waukon High School in 2011. Kohbey liked nature, being outdoors, and fishing. He enjoyed skateboarding, parkour, playing his guitar, video games, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his mother Nicole Antoinette Lawson of Waukon; his father Randy Joe Lawson of Waukon; three brothers: Justin Lawson of Minneapolis, MN, and Kyley and Brody Lawson, both of Waukon, IA; paternal grandmother Gertrude Hagen of Waukon; and several uncles, aunts, and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Marvin Joseph and Beulah Mae Sires; paternal grandfather Roland Leonard Lawson; and paternal step-grandfather Robert Hagen.
Honorary casketbearers are Justin, Kyley, and Brody Lawson, and Danny and Nick Penticoff.
