Kevin Walter Johnson

Kevin W. Johnson, 59, of Waukon, IA, died Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society in Waukon. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 22nd, at 11:00 AM at Martin - Grau Funeral Home in Waukon, with Pastor Matthew Majewski officiating. Inurnment will be at Lansing Ridge Cemetery, in rural Waukon. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Kevin Walter Johnson was born August 28, 1965, in Waukon, IA, the son of Walter and Lorraine (Boyd) Johnson. He was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lansing, IA, and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon. Kevin graduated from Waukon High School in 1984, and served in the United States Army reserves from 1983 - 1989. Kevin worked as a retail manager for Pamida and several other retail stores throughout Iowa. On September 29, 2001, he married Cindy Holbrook at Mt. Hosmer Park in Lansing, IA. Kevin and Cindy moved to Waukon in 2020.

He was a former member of the Jaycees, and was serving on the Waukon City Council as a councilman. Kevin loved to sing and sang at several funerals and weddings. He loved spending time and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Cindy of Waukon; his sister Kristy (Don) Bollman of Waterville; a brother Michael Johnson of Waukon; four nephews; two nieces; Cindy's children: Abbie Gregory of Ogden, IA, and Amber Udelhoven of Benton, IA; and his fur babies: Maddie and Milo. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary urnbearers are Cody, Jacob, and Jason Bollman, Blake and Brad Gregory, and Brent Johnson.
