Kenneth Eugene Larick

December 20, 1927 — September 30, 2007

Kenneth E. Larick, 79, of Waukon, IA formerly of West Union, IA, died on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 4th at 10:30 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon with Fr. Joseph Schneider officiating. Military graveside rites will be held in Wexford Cemetery, rural Lansing, IA. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon where there will be a 4:00 pm scripture service.


Kenneth Eugene Larick was born on December 30, 1927 in Eagle Grove, IA, the son of William and Clara (Stockdale) Larick. He was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Dodge, IA and confirmed at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1945. He served in the US Air Force from 1946 until 1949. On September 15, 1951 he married Gertrude Nolan at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Dodge. They moved to West Union where he worked for the Fayette County Union Newspaper as a foreman in the print shop for 20 years and farmed in the West Union area. Kenneth and Gert moved to Waukon eight years ago. They have farmed in the Waukon area for the past twenty-five years. While living in West Union he was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, after moving to Waukon he became a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and friends.


Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Larick of Waukon; his children, Bill (Laura Downing) Larick of Anchorage, AK, Bob (Sheila Schultz) Larick of Alexandria, VA and Paula Frengle of Waukon; 3 grandchildren, Carrie Downing-Larick, Chelsea Downing-Larick and Rayghan Larick; and a sister Margurite (Edward) Donnely of Webster City, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Wagner.

Casketbearers are Mark Halverson, Terry Mooney, Kyle Mara, Don Kruse, Bruce Kubitz and Dennis Miller.
