Kathy Jo Doss

Kathy Jo Doss, 51, of West Salem, WI, died Sunday, January 21, 2024, unexpectedly at her home in West Salem, WI. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 3rd, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home in Lansing, IA. Burial will be held at a later date.

Kathy Jo (Granger) Doss was born December 16, 1972, in Viroqua, WI, the daughter of Randy Granger and Diane (Coppernoll) McKee. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Viroqua and confirmed at St. Charles in Genoa. Kathy graduated from De Soto High School in 1991. After high school, she enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during Desert Storm aboard the U.S.S Shenandoah. While in the service, Kathy met Robert "Barry" Doss and the two were married in 1995 on a ship. They later divorced. Following her time in the Navy, Kathy worked as a salesperson at Midwest Appliance in Onalaska, WI, for nine years.

Kathy loved shopping, reading, going to concerts, tending to her many flowers, and especially enjoyed the countryside.

Survivors include her parents: Bob and Diane McKee of De Soto, WI; four siblings: Ed (Sarah) Tunks of Coon Valley, WI, Eric (Shayla) McKee of De Soto, WI, Debbie (Cory) Martin of Holmen, WI, and Sarah (Kenneth) Hauser of Genoa, WI; 10 nieces and nephews: Nathan, Ben, Xander, Rylan, Austin, Brandon, Emma, Brantley, Eliana, and Adalynn; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her paternal father Randy Granger; her grandparents: JoAnn and Byrd Hill, Joyce and Theron Coppernoll, and Richard and Evelyn McKee; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
