Kathryn Shattuck

Kathryn L. Shattuck, 85, of Marion IA, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha, IA. A graveside service at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon will be held at a later date. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha.

Kathryn Louise Shattuck was born February 8, 1928, in Postville, IA, the daughter of Burton and Ella Marie (Rolfs) Livingood. She graduated from Waukon High School in Waukon, IA, in 1945. On September 7, 1959, she married Robert L. Shattuck of Waukon. They lived in Marion, IA, where Kathryn worked in the office of Longview Fibre Company in Cedar Rapids, IA. After retirement, she worked for the Green Thumb and the Marion Police Department in the records department. Kathryn loved her family and her dog Shawna very much.

Kathryn is survived by her three stepchildren: Gregg (Lois) Shattuck of New Hampton, IA, Sherry Digre of Rochester, MN, and Linda Shattuck of Long Beach, CA; five stepgrandchildren: Kim Digre of Brunswick, GA, Michael (Leah) Digre of Stewartville, MN, Gregory Shattuck, Jr. of Arlington, TX, Bryan (Heidi) Shattuck of Dennison, MN, and Sara (Tyler) Throndson of New Hampton; five step-great-grandchildren: Cody Digre of Stewartville, MN, Alexa and Ashton Shattuck of Dennison, MN, and Brenna and Lauren Throndson of New Hampton; three nieces: Dorothy and Barbara, both of California, and Karen of Mississippi; and one grandniece Dana Douglas of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert, who died in 1981; and four sisters: Virginia Clemens, Hazel Goeke, Rosetta Anderson, and Viola Rosendahl.
