Katherine Carvella Johnson

Katherine "Kathy" C. Johnson, 55, of Waukon, IA, passed away on February 24, 2016, at Good Samaritan Society, in West Union, IA. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon. Kathy's wishes were to have her ashes spread near a memorial of her late mother-in-law Virginia Johnson from Ferryville, WI, arranged by the family.


Katherine Carvella Trageser was born September 24, 1960 in Miami, FL, the daughter of John Perry and Wilma Jean (Travelstead) Trageser. She graduated in 1978 from North Miami Senior High in Miami, FL. Kathy was married to Joseph Johnson on December 28, 2004, they were married for 12 years. She worked as a cashier for Casey's and Hardee's both in Waukon. Kathy enjoyed traveling to different places with her husband Lookout Mountain, Tennessee was one of her favorite places to visit. She also enjoyed watching cooking shows, Judge Judy, and working on word find puzzles.

Survivors include her husband Joseph of Waukon; her grandchildren: Josheb and Parvin; a brother John Perry Trageser of Newnan, GA; two sisters: Betty Lamach of Hollywood, FL and Denise Roman of Naples, FL; her children: Paul (Eli) Reynolds of Bradenton, FL, David Reynolds of Madisonville, KY, James Reynolds of Miami, FL, and Carrie Butler of Carmi, IL and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Honorary casketbearers are Michael Kolsrud, John T. Johnson, Randy Gaunitz, and Randy Van Ruler.
