Joseph "Joe" C. Teff, 81, of Dorchester, IA, died Sunday, January 1, 2017, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, IA. Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 5th, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dorchester with Fr. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services Thursday at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements.
Joseph "Joe" Carlton Teff was born November 24, 1935, in Spring Grove, MN, the son of Carlton and Bernadette (Klug) Teff. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church, and attended Bergen Country School in rural Dorchester. Joe worked for area farmers before he started farming with his brother Tom.
Joe was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dorchester. He enjoyed going to auctions and if any of his family members wanted something at the auction, Joe would usually bid on it for them. He loved having a dog on the farm. Joe will be remembered as a good brother and a kind person
Survivors include four brothers: Thomas (Peggy) Teff, George (Gail) Teff, both of Dorchester, Greg (Donna Bartuski) Teff of Stoddard, WI, and Kenneth Teff of Farmington, MN; five sisters: Debbie Herrmann of Onalsaka, WI, Carol (Doug) Bakkum, Angie Vondrashek, both of Stoddard, WI, Joan (Pat Hundt) Berg, and Liz Nutter both of La Crosse, WI; three sisters-in-law: Sharon Teff of Dorchester, Barb Teff of Lakeville, MN, and Donna Teff of Marion, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Lloyd "Butch", James, and Leo Teff; and four brothers-in-law: Dale Herrmann, Mike Vondrashek, Jerry Berg, and David Nutter.
