John "Jack" Terhune

September 20, 1924 — November 2, 2018

John "Jack" Terhune, 94, of Grand Rapids, MI, died Friday, November 2, 2018, in Grand Rapids. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, IA, with Fr. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Inurnment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call one hour before services on Saturday at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Terhune-Sheridan Endowed Scholarship at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids.

John "Jack" E. Terhune was born in Detroit, MI, on September 20, 1924, the son of John E. Terhune and Ann (Reske) McFetridge. He graduated high school from Northwestern in Detroit and then from Wayne State University. He also served proudly in the Navy during WWII on a carrier in the Pacific. John met and married the love of his life, Dorothy Sheridan of Waukon, IA, and they enjoyed over 52 years together.

John is survived by his nieces and nephews: Patrick (Amy) Cunningham, Cecilia Cunningham, Arthur (Judy) Sheridan, Roxanne (William) Riordan, Shawn (Susan) Sheridan, Michael (Lindy) Sheridan, Jeffrey (Melissa) Sheridan, Robert Terhune, Sandra (John) Randolph, and Kelly Frakes, and dozens of their children.
