Joan Marie Dahlstrom

Joan M. Dahlstrom, 64, of Waukon, IA, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 29th, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Rev. Msgr. Cletus Hawes, Fr. Donald Hawes, and Deacon Mike Ward officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon where there will be a 3:45 PM scripture service.

Joan Marie Dahlstrom was born February 21, 1952, in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Ralph and Wanda (Neverman) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church and graduated from St. Patrick Catholic High School in 1970, both in Waukon. Joan worked at the Good Samaritan Center as a nurse's aide. On April 27, 1974, she married Dennis Dahlstrom at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Joan worked at Northern Engraving from 1972 - 2008. She also worked at the Echo Valley Speedway in West Union, IA. Joan was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed cross stitching, working word searches, watching musicals, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Dennis Dahlstrom of Waukon; her mother Wanda Anderson of Waukon; her children: Christopher (Kealy) Dahlstrom of Waukon, Nicholas (Lana) Dahlstrom of New Albin, IA, Bradley (Erin) Dahlstrom of Tiffin, IA, Jarod Dahlstrom of Waukon, and Kallie (Benjamin) Heitland of Postville, IA; nine grandchildren: Kyara, Maya, Brayden, Breelyn, Tegan, Caleb, Aiden, Vince, and Kaedyn Dahlstrom; three sisters: Chris (Gary) Rumph of Waukon, Jean (Wayne) Schulte of Dorchester, IA, and Janet (Tom) Walleser of Lansing, IA ; two brothers: Dan (JoEllen) Anderson of Waukon and John (Gina) Anderson of Littleton, CO. She is preceded in death by her father Ralph; and a brother David Anderson.

Honorary urnbearers are Joan's grandchildren. Urnbearers are Jill Luttchens and Lisa Penrose.
