Jim Howard, Sr.

James "Jim" H. Howard, Sr., 71, of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Services will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon. James Harvey Howard, Sr. was born on November 20, 1949, in Postville, IA, the son of Harvey and Edith (Worchel) Howard. On May 24, 1975, he married Betty Barker. Jim loved spending time with family and friends, telling stories, and making people laugh. He was an avid Ford fan and enjoyed dirt track racing.

Jim is survived by his wife Betty of Waukon; his children: James, Jr. (Stephanie) of Cape Coral, FL, Sheila (Scott) Panos of Waukon, Joe (Nicole) of Waukon, Paul of Davenport, IA, and Luke of Waukon; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a special neighbor Kelly and her family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Roy and Chuck; a sister Deb Yohe; nephew Mark Howard; sister-in-law Cheryl Howard; two brothers-in-law: David Tschappat and Mark Hager; and his father and mother-in-law Warren and Rose Barker.
