Jessica Evangeline Docken

Jessica E. Docken, 33, of Onalaska, WI, died Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2nd, at 11:00 AM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, IA, with Pastor Jim Aniol officiating. Burial will be at Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, IA. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Jessica Evangeline Berken, along with her twin sister Jennifer, was born on November 20, 1984, in Waukesha, WI, the daughter of Mark G. and Jette L. (Beall) Berken. She lived in East Troy, WI, until the family moved in 1991 to Retreat, WI. Jessica attended De Soto Community School, graduating in 2003. She also attended the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, IA, and UW-Richland Center, graduating with a degree in zoology, which reflected her love of animals, especially tigers. On September 20, 2014, she married Shawn Docken and they made their home in rural Galesville, WI, before moving to Brice Prairie, WI. Jessica loved the outdoors, riding her horse, hunting and fishing, as well as taking many motorcycle trips with Shawn.

Survivors include her husband Shawn Docken and his family of Brice Prairie and Galesville, WI; her father Mark (Theresa) Berken of Prairie du Chien, WI; her mother Jette Beall Berken of Minneapolis, MN; two brothers: Mark (Nadia) Berken, Jr. and their son Gerard, all of Plymouth, MN, and Nick (Rachel) Berken and their children Jacie, Payton, and Christopher, all of Spring Valley, MN; a sister and womb-mate Jennifer (Kenny) Engh of Viroqua, WI; paternal grandmother Nancy Berken of Muskego, WI; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ray and Opal Beall and paternal grandfather Thomas Berken.

Casketbearers are Mark Berken, Jr., Nick Berken, Kenny Engh, John Barker, Dan Wilber, and David Fanello.
