Jane Schneider

Jane M. Schneider, 85, of Waukon, IA, died Monday, May 25, 2020, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 29th, at 12:30 PM at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon and will also be live streamed on Martin Funeral Home's Facebook page. Jane Mary Schneider was born February 1, 1935, in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Becker) Hansmeier. A lifelong member of Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon, she was baptized, confirmed in 1948, married there, and active in women's fellowship. Jane graduated from Waukon High School in 1952.  On December 20, 1958, Jane married Paul James Schneider. She was an integral part of the family dairy farm south of Waukon. She also operated the Schneider Furniture and Gift Shop.

She loved spending time with family, especially going on an annual summer family vacation to Northern Minnesota to fish, boat, and be outdoors. Jane also enjoyed going out to eat with friends, playing cards, watching sports, and attending her grandchildren's events.

Jane is survived by her three daughters: Linda (Brad) Winkie of Waukon, Connie (Kenneth) Kurth of Rochester, MN, and Dawn (Jeff) Rathai of Owatonna, MN; grandchildren: Kaylee (Nathan) Voss of Madison, WI, Alexander Kurth of Minneapolis, MN, Jared (Becky) Winkie of Waukon, Julie Kurth of St. Louis Park, MN, and Michelle (Taylor) Wood of Lansing, IA; and great-grandchildren: Zebediah and Leah Winkie of Waukon and Natalie Voss of Madison, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul on August 2, 1990; her sister Alice (Joe) Regan; and her brother Donnie Hansmeier.

Her grandchildren will serve as casketbearers.
