Isabella Rose Swenson

Isabella Rose Swenson, 10 day old daughter of Brian and Amanda Swenson of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Heath System, Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse, WI. A funeral mass will be held Friday, June 23rd at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with Fr. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 am until time of service at the church on Friday.

Isabella Rose Swenson surprised us all by rushing into this world on June 8, 2017, four months premature. She greeted us with a tiny cry and squirming limbs and kept fighting so hard to stay. Her little arms and legs were always going, but she was calmed by the sound of Mama's voice and loved to hear Daddy sing to her. She was a fighter and tried so hard, but in the end her tiny body could not contain her mighty spirit. Isabella Rose gave us 10 amazing days of life, but she went to rest in Our Savior on June 18, 2017, after a valiant effort to be.

Isabella is survived by her parents Brian Louis and Amanda Kate (Huey) Swenson; paternal grandparents Otis "Lou" and Rita (Valley) Swenson; maternal grandmother Kathy Benke; paternal uncles Nick and Travis Swenston; maternal great-grandmother Rose Benke; paternal great-grandmother Rose Ella Valley; and numerous great-aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her maternal uncle Jesse Huey; maternal grandfather Lyn Huey; and her maternal and paternal great-grandfathers.

Honorary casketbearers are Nick & Travis Swenston and Alison Schulte. Casketbearers are Justin Schulte, Andy Hennessy, and Kevin Valley.
