Helen M. Sullivan, 98, of Waukon, IA, died Monday, March 21, 2011, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24th, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Joseph Schneider and Msgr. Edward Lechtenberg officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon where there will be a Parish Scripture Service at 4 PM and a Rosary recited at 7:30 PM.
Helen Marie Sullivan, was born January 11, 1913 in Waterville, IA to Dr. B.J. and Clemence (Kelly) Dillon. She attended Waukon area schools and graduated from the Waukon Junior College. On September 4, 1934 she married Emmett C. Sullivan at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. Helen worked as a secretary for her husband's Insurance business. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and visiting with friends and relatives.
Survivors include two sons, Roger (Marie) Sullivan of New Lenox, IL and Tom (Vickie) Sullivan of O'Fallon, IL; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emmett C. Sullivan and one brother, Joseph Dillon.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick School.
Honorary casketbearers are Sharon and Tom Brown, Evelyn Burke, Phyllis Quandahl, Chuck and Fran Luther. Casketbearers are Ozzie Quandahl, Dick and Alex Sullivan, David and Tom Luther and Johnny Little Jr.
