Helen Pearl Dehli was born on November 28, 1942 in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Charles and Jeanette (Cavers) Brooks. She was baptized and confirmed at the EUB Church in Lansing, IA. Helen graduated from Lansing High School in 1961 and then completed training at the Young School of Cosmetology in Waterloo. On January 2, 1966, she married Philip Dehli in Lewistown, Montana. She has been a member of the East Paint Creek Synod Lutheran Church since 1966, and active in its Ladies Aid. Church was important to Helen and she always made sure her children attended church, Vacation Bible School, and studied their catechism. During her recent health problems her faith got stronger as her body got weaker. For several years she packaged buttons for the Blumenthal Company in Lansing. Helen loved to read, play cards and do puzzles. She and Philip attended many of the Farm Progress Shows and other farm shows, Dairy Breakfasts and garage sales. Helen always had a huge garden, canned its produce, supplied her family from a half acre of sweet corn and was the first each year to make a rhubarb pie.

Survivors include her husband, Philip of Harpers Ferry, IA; four children, Randy (Mary) Dehli of Waukon, IA, Rob (Sherri) Dehli of Waukon, Renee (Andew) Henke of Grand Blanc, MI and Ron (Becky) Dehli of Holmen, WI; eleven grandchildren, Becky, Mandy, Emy, Michaela, Ella, Allie, Nicholas, Victoria, Andrew, Ashley and Adalyn; four sisters, Mary Lou Troendle of Phoenix, AZ, Doris Flesch of Lewistown, MT, Ruth Reppe of Lewistown, MT and Barb Koch of White Fish, MT.
