Harry "Don" Cauley

Harry "Don" Cauley, age 90, of Bremerton, WA, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at his daughter's home in Waukon IA; he succumbed to lung cancer. A private family interment will be held later this spring at Miller Woodlawn in Bremerton, WA. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family.

Harry "Don" Donald Cauley was born December 6, 1930, in Seattle, WA, the son of Harry Anthony and Florence Nellie (Sanford) Cauley. He grew up in Washington State and graduated from high school in Seattle. Don also attended school, and received his certificate, for stock trading. For three years, Don served in the U.S. Army. After being discharged, Don began working at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard starting out as a general laborer and finishing his 35 year career as a nuclear submarine inspector.

During his life in Washington, Don lived in Seattle, Tacoma, Bremerton, and Quilcene. In 2003, he moved to Wilsey, KS, and eventually married. After the passing of his third wife in 2018, Don moved to Waukon, IA, to live with his daughter Ann. Don enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, hunting, and was an avid fisherman. He also loved to travel, both for work and to visit family and friends. He traveled to the Philippines when he was 88 years old to visit his son Tony. An accomplished wood crafter, Don made many beautiful things including boxes, bowls, banana hangers, and just about anything someone could think of. Don was a very loving, giving father and was always there for his kids.

He is survived by his four children from his first marriage: Linda, Tony, Ann, and Donna; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister Ruth; and his brother David. Don was preceded in death by his parents; three wives: Nancye L. Craven, Blanche E. Christensen, and Irma J. Clark; two brothers: Leo and Gerald "Jerry"; and his sister Rosemma.
