Fred F. Harrington, 76, of Waukon, IA, died Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday, January 4th at Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank Community Room in Waukon. Fred Franklin Harrington was born April 5, 1939, in rural Waukon, IA, the son of Fred and Rose (Bellis) Harrington, Sr. He attended country schools in Winneshiek County. On June 21, 1959 he married Lorraine Reinertson. Fred was a truck driver, and worked for local farmers. He enjoyed being a father, grandpa, great grandpa, and helping others.

Survivors include Lorraine Harrington of Waukon; three daughters: Kathleen Flack of West Union, IA, Joleen Flack and Peggy (Bruce) Sharar of Walnut Ridge, AR,; two sons: Daniel (friend Donna) Harrington of Waukon, and Samuel (Michelle) Harrington of Postville, IA; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother Lyle Benson of Vinton, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son Todd Harrington; two granddaughters: Christina Flack and Stephanie Sharar; one grandson Joshua Sharar; one great-grandson Austin Sharar; two sisters: Lorraine Brainard and Lois Hess; and a brother LaVerne Benson.
