Everett "Andy" Judeen Anderson was born December 8, 1938, at home in rural Waterville, IA, the son of Leonard M. and Emily I. (Bakkum) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at West Paint Creek Synod Lutheran Church in rural Waukon and in 1956, Andy graduated from Waterville High School. He helped his parents on the farm before joining the U.S. Army in 1961, serving in Germany. After being honorably discharged in 1963, Andy returned to the home farm, where he raised sheep, grew crops, and milked. He loved being outside and doing chores, particularly baling the little round hay bales and tinkering with the tractors. For 37 years, Andy drove school bus for Allamakee Community Schools and also drove the Quillins delivery truck for a time. On a fateful night in West Union, Andy went to a dance and met Roberta Fish Rohde; after much prodding, he got her to dance with him. The couple married on July 25, 1999, near Lake Tahoe, CA. They lived in Waukon until 2013, when they sold the farm and moved to Plymouth, IA.
Besides dancing, Andy also liked bowling and golfing; he loved driving around his bowling team when they went on trips. He enjoyed doing yard work and spent a lot of time fixing up a spot for his vegetable garden. For the past six years, Andy loved spending time with his beloved dog Lucy.
Andy is survived by his wife Roberta of Plymouth, IA; his stepchildren: Mike (Kristy) Rohde of Boone, IA, Chris (Jeff) Brandt of Mason City, IA, David Rohde of Iowa City, IA, and Jenny (Mark) Stepan of West Union, IA; six step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
