Eunice Genevieve Sunderman

Eunice G. Sunderman, 96, of Waukon, IA, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Northgate Care Center in Waukon, IA. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 5th at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Father Joseph Schnieder officiating. Burial of ashes will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon. Friends may call from 10:30 am until time of services at the funeral home on Friday.
Eunice Genevieve Sunderman was born on August 9, 1913 in Winona, MN, the daughter of George and Veronica (Gleisner) Wiest. Eunice attended rural schools in the Ft. Atkinson area, and graduated from West Union High School in 1931. On December 12, 1935 she married Earl Sunderman in Cedar Rapids, IA. They moved to Waukon where Eunice worked at Klenske and Sullivan Drug Store and the Gambles Store in Waukon as a clerk. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Eunice enjoyed playing cards especially euchre, dancing and visiting with friends.
Survivors include 3 nieces, Karen (David) La Bonne of Vancouver, WA, Elaine Eadie of Waukon, Jean (Ron) Fish of Oconomowoc, WI; and a nephew, John (JoAnn) Eadie Swisher, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl who died in 1992; and a sister, Adeline Yotter.
